Discovery Elementary PTSA

In an effort to help our teachers better equip their classrooms with the
little things that make it easier and often more fun, we are spreading the
word about the items some teachers "wish" they had for their classroom.
Please contact the teacher if you are able to donate any of these items.

We will be highlighting lists from different teachers each month. Also you
will soon be able to view updated lists from all of the teachers on the PTSA

First Grade: Overall the first grade teachers would like to establish a
lending library to be shared between all of the first grade classes. Any
books appropriate for first grade readers at all levels would be
appreciated. As a team they would also like: Individual CD and DVD
players, digital cameras, digital camera photo printers and an artist in
residence (pottery).

Smith: 23 hard clipboards to use for writing, 23 spiral notebooks, two
electric pencil sharpeners, googly eyes, sparkle paint, other craft items.

Britt: New board games, puzzles, chapter books for higher level readers,
sets of 6 beginning chapter books, stickers, scented markers.

We have re-scheduled the Book Fair for Wednesday 6th December from 1:45-3:45pm in the Discovery Library. All the proceeds benefit our school library. Cecks and Cash only. Questions or Comments or if you'd like to help please contact Joanna Ray 391 6623.

The General meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday 12th December at 6:30pm in the School Library. Please come and join us!

Discovery Enrichment Hour is a program provided by the PTSA. It is made up of fun and exciting classes that can enrich your child’s school day. Most of our classes are offered after school for a fee.

The next Enrichment Hour session is our winter session it begins the week of January 8th and continues into the second week of March. Flyers for this session will come home with your child the end of the first week in December. Please get your registration in quickly as this year some classes have fill up fast. Registration deadline is Friday December 15th. Please read the packet thoroughly because it will give a more detailed explanation of this program and all our policies and procedures. Registration is on a first come first served basis so please get your form along with your tuition in early.
