9 Reasons to Support the Discovery PTSA

By supporting the PTSA you are advocating for your child.

  1. The Discovery PTSA puts on enrichment programs and events like Multicultural Night, Eager Reader, Reflections, Trick or Treat Trail, Scholastic Book Fair, STEM Fair and much more.
  2. By becoming a member, it means you support the work the PTSA does for Discovery. You are not required to volunteer -- but we'd love it if you did!
  3. Membership includes exclusive discounts to places like Great Wolf Lodge, Office Depot, FedEx Office, car rentals, Wild Waves and so much more!
  4. If you want to support the teachers and staff of Discovery, becoming a member does that too. The PTSA provides teacher stipends for additional classroom supplies needs.
  5. We also offer grants to teachers and staff which may include supplemental curriculum and impactful library book donations. These items help teachers build stronger classrooms and have a big impact on your child's education and goes above what the district provides.
  6. The Discovery PTSA is about helping make happy memories for our kids. We organize a yearbook, spirit wear, spirit week and Popcorn Fridays to ensure their time at Discovery is filled with fun...GO EAGLES!
  7. The Discovery PTSA 2.6.9 is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization making membership fees and donations tax deductible. TAX ID #94-3152614
  8. Achieving 100% membership is a BIG DEAL as it gives credence to our PTSA's voice when it comes to advocating for our children at the State Legislature. It sends a message to Olympia that our school and school district is made up of parents who are concerned and involved.
  9. Getting involved is a great way to meet people and make new friends in our Discovery community. It's a win-win!
