Welcome!

Welcome to the Discovery Elementary PTSA's Blog.

What's a blog? Blog is short for weblog (More blog info: click here), and we're using this one as a way to keep you easily informed and up-to-date on the latest news and events going on with our PTSA and Discovery Elementary School.

A cool thing about blogs is the ability to subscribe to them and be automatically notified when new information is available. There are many websites that can provide these subscriptions for you. I use one called Bloglines. You can also check out My Yahoo, Feedster, Blogdigger and many others.

Check back here often for the latest information.

Check out this page for a list of all committees and chairperson for each. If you see an empty spot, sign up!

Not sure what each committee is all about? We have a complete list of descriptions here.

Contact Christy Bacon or Jill Kelley, our VPs of Programs, if you have any questions or want to sign up!

Make-up Day Survey

The Issaquah School District has released a web survey to collect opinions on how to handle making up the days of school that have been missed so far this school year. As of January 16th, there have been SEVEN days of school cancelled, so your input is important in shaping the solution for making up those days. You can take the survey here:

Make-up Day Survey

The survey closes on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 9:00 PM, so don't delay!

Emergency Transportation Bulletin

Just in case you are confused with all of the terminology involving late starts to school and transportation, here's a link to the flyer that the Issaquah School District distributes:

Emergency Transportation Bulletin

Now when you see that school is delayed an hour and that there is "no mountain transportation," you'll know exactly what that means!
